Research Validates the Effectiveness of LabTest Checker by Labplus®: Results Published in Prestigious JMIR Medical Informatics
We announce the publication of clinical validation results for LabTest Checker (LTC) by Labplus® in JMIR Medical Informatics, demonstrating the medical device’s safety and effectiveness in real-world healthcare settings.
Overview
The clinical study was carried out as part of a research grant from the National Center for Research and Development in cooperation with the largest and leading scientific institution – the Silesian Medical University in Katowice.
The study followed strict ethical protocols with full transparency, including registration on ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05813938) and ethical approval from the Medical University of Silesia’s Bioethics Committee.
Clinical Validation Study Summary
The prospective cohort study, conducted in collaboration with scientists from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice and the Medical University of Wrocław, evaluated 101 patients and revealed exceptional performance in critical patient safety metrics. LTC achieved 100% accuracy in identifying cases requiring emergency attention and 92.3% accuracy for urgent cases.
Key findings:
1) 74.3% overall triage accuracy, outperforming similar systems (19-70% range). Its use in medical triage at the laboratory testing stage can positively impact time and resource management in medical facilities.
2) The system demonstrated 100% sensitivity in detecting cases requiring immediate medical intervention and 92.3% sensitivity for urgent cases, providing significant assistance in saving patients’ health and lives.
3) 82.9% accuracy in identifying underlying health conditions.
4) 41.6% reduction in unnecessary medical visits, creating significant operational efficiencies
The complete study is available at JMIR Medical Informatics Journal, providing detailed methodology and results for healthcare professionals and researchers. You can also find the summary on our Resources page.
