The top one reads "92% feel better prepared for their appointments¹" and the bottom one reads "98% want to continue receiving interpretations²". A light teal cross shape is also partially visible on the right side of the image.

How does Labplus help healthcare providers?

Reduces workload for medical staff by answering common questions

Patients who receive detailed lab result interpretations arrive at appointments better prepared. They’ve already reviewed clear explanations of their results and what they mean. If they have questions beforehand, they can contact our medical team and receive responses within hours.

According to our survey, 92% of patients who received interpretations felt better prepared for their medical appointments¹. This means your physicians spend less time explaining basic test results and more time on what requires their expertise – diagnostic evaluation and treatment decisions.

Prioritizes follow-up visits based on the level of urgency

LabTest Checker by Labplus® categorizes lab results based on urgency level. In our analysis of 1,000 patient cases, 61% fell into the routine category (scheduled follow-up appropriate)², while 21% required only self-care guidance².

When the system detects abnormalities suggesting immediate or urgent situations, patients receive guidance to prioritize seeking medical attention. In cases where results are within normal ranges, and no concerning patterns are identified, patients receive clear information that the doctor’s attention isn’t necessary.

This approach helps patients understand when immediate consultation is needed, when routine follow-up is appropriate, or when their results require no action — supporting more informed decisions about healthcare engagement.

Helps establish prevention the default in healthcare

Preventive care plays a valuable role in healthcare: regular monitoring helps identify deviations from normal ranges before they progress, allows for earlier conversations with healthcare providers about risk factors, and supports patients in making informed decisions about their health management. This approach benefits both patients, who gain clearer insight into their health status, and healthcare systems, which can allocate resources more effectively when issues are addressed at earlier stages.

LabTest Checker by Labplus® recommends medically relevant follow-up tests in 79% of cases, helping patients take a more proactive approach to their health³. In our survey, 70% of patients who received interpretations said they were more willing to undergo preventive testing regularly⁴.

Empowers patients with accurate and reliable interpretations

Self-diagnosis, confusion, and misconceptions from online searches or generative AI are common problems in patient understanding.

LabTest Checker by Labplus® addresses this by providing clinically validated interpretations from a Class I medical device overseen by our Medical Advisory Board.

Instead of relying on unverified online sources, patients receive explanations based on established medical knowledge and their specific health context.

How does LabTest Checker by Labplus® work?

  • A detailed, personalized analysis explains lab results in accessible language, helping patients understand their test outcomes and recommended next steps. Patients can download the report as a PDF and share it with their physicians during appointments, providing a foundation for more focused clinical discussions.

  • Patients receive clear guidance on when to schedule their next medical appointment based on their results, i.e., an urgently needed consultation or a routine check-up within a month. This helps patients take timely action while supporting healthcare providers with better resource allocation based on clinical priority.

  • The system provides tailored preventive care suggestions, from follow-up lab tests to lifestyle considerations, helping patients take a more active role in their health. These evidence-based recommendations align with established preventive care protocols and support early intervention approaches.

  • Patients can consult directly with our medical team for any questions about their results and receive expert responses within hours. This immediate access to professional guidance means patients don’t need to schedule appointments for simple clarifications. It saves time for your medical staff to focus on more complex cases while ensuring patients get timely answers to all their health concerns.

  • Our approach is designed to enhance — not replace — the role of physicians. We help both patients and doctors get more from each visit by improving preparation, clarity, and communication.

    • Actionable summaries – patients receive a clear, structured report (downloadable as a PDF), they can bring to their appointment, should they wish so.
    • Guided timing – the report includes a recommended timeframe for consultation (e.g., immediately, within a month), based on medical urgency. This helps prioritize follow-up visits, improving operational efficiency.
    • Better-prepared patients – we answer common questions in advance, helping patients understand their results and prepare relevant topics for discussion.
    • Support from our medical team – patients can also ask follow-up questions through our platform and receive answers from our medical team (typically within a few hours).

  • LabTest Checker by Labplus® is intended for legally adult patients (18+ in most European countries), excluding pregnant women.

We currently provide automated interpretation for 100+ laboratory tests. If a test is not supported, interpretation will not be provided.

We continuously expand the list of supported tests and parameters based on our partners’ needs and patient demand.

  • No, interpretation is not a diagnosis. While it can support the diagnostic process, there are important differences:

    Interpretation:

    • analyzes lab results in the context of patient history,
    • provides a triage level, explains deviations, and suggests next steps,
    • may include preventive guidance.

    Diagnosis:

    • identification of a disease or condition by a physician,
    • requires a full evaluation – physical exam, medical history, lab results, and (in some cases) follow-up tests.

LabTest Checker by Labplus® is a medical device designed to prognose health status, not to diagnose or treat diseases.

  • Health Reports are primarily designed to empower patients with clear, actionable insights about their test results.

By default, reports are accessible directly to patients who can then:

    • download their report as a PDF,
    • share it with their healthcare provider during appointments,
    • maintain full control over their personal health information.

However, we recognize that each partner has unique workflows and requirements. Therefore, we can configure the system to support your preferred approach.

    • Patient-only access (standard) – maintains patient privacy and control.
    • Dual access – both patients and their referring physicians receive reports.
    • Physician integration – reports can be integrated into existing physician portals.

During implementation, we work with each partner to determine the optimal configuration based on:

    • your existing patient-physician communication workflows,
    • local regulatory requirements,
    • your strategic objectives for patient engagement.

This flexibility ensures our solution enhances your current operations while delivering maximum value to both your laboratory and your patients.

  • We understand that physicians may be cautious about new tools that engage with clinical information — and rightly so. Skepticism plays a vital role in protecting patient care. That’s why Labplus was designed from the ground up to earn medical trust, not challenge it.

LabTest Checker by Labplus® is a registered Class I medical device, developed under the supervision of our Medical Advisory Board, which includes practicing physicians and clinical experts.

At its core, the system relies on a robust clinical knowledge base — built from peer-reviewed medical literature, diagnostic guidelines, and continuously updated evidence. This ensures that each interpretation is grounded in the current standard of care.

To validate our approach, we partnered with the Medical University of Silesia (a respected academic institution) to conduct a clinical study that demonstrated strong performance:

    • 100% sensitivity in detecting emergency cases,
    • 92.3% sensitivity for urgent cases,
    • 82.9% accuracy in identifying underlying conditions.

It’s important to note that LabTest Checker by Labplus® is not a diagnostic tool. It provides triage support and interprets lab results in the context of a medical questionnaire. Our goal is to help patients understand when to seek care and help improve patient preparedness for consultations.

We welcome questions and collaboration from healthcare professionals. Our team is available to address any questions.

  • Yes. LabTest Checker by Labplus® operates within a comprehensive framework of medical guidelines and continuous clinical oversight.

    Our interpretations are based on:

    • International guidelines – WHO, IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry).
    • European standards – European Society of Cardiology, European Association for the Study of Diabetes.
    • National protocols – adapted for each market’s specific clinical practices.
    • Evidence-based medicine – peer-reviewed research and clinical studies.

    Continuous clinical improvement

We maintain a “living system” model that includes:

    • Monthly reviews of interpretation accuracy
    • Regular Medical Advisory Board assessments
    • Integration of new clinical guidelines within 90 days of publication

Country-specific adaptations and regulatory compliance are addressed in the following FAQ.

  • When entering a new market, we:

    1. Collaborate with local medical experts to review and adapt interpretations
    2. Analyze local reference ranges used by major laboratories
    3. Incorporate national screening recommendations (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular risk)
    4. Validate with local clinical data before market launch.

Example: in Romania, we would work with Romanian medical societies to ensure interpretations align with national protocols for conditions prevalent in this population.

    Regulatory compliance:

    • CE-registered medical device (MDR 2017/745)
    • ISO 13485 quality management system
    • Clinical validation published in a peer-reviewed journal
    • Full medical liability as a registered healthcare entity

Alignment with local clinical guidelines is addressed in the preceding FAQ.

  • Patient safety and clarity are our top priorities. As a certified medical device, LabTest Checker by Labplus® follows strict standards for accuracy, transparency, and clinical validity.

    • The system never interprets results without first gathering comprehensive medical context (including the symptoms, medications, medical history, and risk factors, among others).
    • Our proprietary system for medical interpretation has been built in-house, using white-box machine learning models and advanced statistical techniques. Every interpretation is traceable and explainable — no black-box outputs.
    • We do not use publicly available Large Language Models (LLMs), as they lack transparency and can introduce risks in a clinical setting.

Our system flags cases meeting specific criteria (highly abnormal results, complex medical histories) for further review by a qualified physician.

  • Our interpretation is shaped by each patient’s unique health profile, collected through a medical questionnaire.

    How it works:

    • Dynamic questionnaire adapts in real time based on patient responses
    • Covers essential health factors i.e., diagnosed illnesses, symptoms, medications, supplements, risk factors
    • Takes 2–5 minutes to complete
    • Optional prevention & symptom analysis modules available.

This medical context directly informs urgency classification, result interpretation, and test recommendations—ensuring clinically relevant guidance for each patient.

  • Yes. Our system automatically flags cases that meet certain criteria (such as highly abnormal results or complex medical histories) for manual review by a medical specialist.

  • We take patient privacy very seriously and do not collect any personally identifiable information from your lab.

    • Our interpretation process uses only de-identified data: lab test parameters, results, reference ranges, and relevant test-specific details.
    • We do not receive names, dates of birth, or any other information that could identify an individual as a result of this process.
    • An email address is collected only if a patient chooses to contact our medical team — and it is used exclusively to respond to their inquiry.

Anonymized data is handled with utmost care: we use end-to-end encryption, strict access controls, and secure transmission protocols at every step.

  • As a medical entity providing a medical service, we take full responsibility for the accuracy and safety of our interpretations.

    • We follow strict medical device standards. In the unlikely event of errors or misinterpretations, we assume full liability — our partners bear no responsibility.
    • We maintain a comprehensive insurance policy in the event of any adverse outcomes related to our interpretations.
    • Our terms of use are clearly outlined in the user’s manual (available here), in accordance with CE regulations. Patients are fully informed about the nature of our service and any potential limitations.
    • We implement strict quality controls, including oversight from our medical team, to minimize the risk of errors. Our clinical validation studies demonstrate the high reliability of our interpretations.

We proactively analyze all cases to continuously refine our models and enhance the accuracy of our service.
